From Sunday 6 September, the Planckaert family will take you on their wild dream in Château Planckaert. Father familias Eddy has always wanted to start a charming bed and breakfast in France. To make that dream come true, the close-knit family bought a castle in France. However, there is one problem: there is still a lot of work to do ... Château Planckaert follows the Planckaert family through their most complicated challenge to turn a burnt-out castle in France into a beautiful place to stay. This heartwarming series tells a story of dreams and hope, of trial and error, guts and respect and the inseparable bond within a family.

Everyone knows the Planckaert family: former cyclist Eddy Planckaert (61) and his wife Christa (62); their children, children-in-law and grandchildren Francesco (38) and Magali (34) with Devon (14), Noa (12) and Yukka (9); Stephanie (31) and Christopher (34) with Iluna (15), Mageno (12) and Elara (5); and Junior (28). Then there is 93-year-old Clara, Christa's mother. Like any family, they have known ups and downs: fame at the top of Eddy's cycling career, but also the heavy fall afterwards. Yet they are straightened out again thanks to each other's support. And even now their bond cannot be broken. The whole family helps to make their French dream come true.

STRAIGHT FAMILY BAND

The Planckaert family is very close. Although each family has its own home, they all live in the same Walloon municipality. And although they live separately, they are still together continuously: in their family business and beyond. The Planckaerts family business is divided into two divisions. On the one hand, they run two chambres d'hôtes and rent out chalets. On the other hand, they work very hard together for their construction company, specializing mainly in total renovations and woodwork.

The ideal starting point for them to start a castle renovation with knowledge - and they will need that knowledge. After a total renovation in 2015, the roof of Louis XV's castle (Château Neureux) burned down completely due to a faulty boiler. Two years after the fire, the Planckaert family bumped into the estate during a holiday and signed the sales agreement in an impulsive mood. Cycling legend Eddy Planckaert will now be lord of the castle.

Vincent TV Belgium also acts as management for the family.
